677 km to the medical technology market

The market is rarely on your doorstep. In medical technology in particular, it is therefore essential to seek contact at international industry meeting points. And that's what we did again this year at COMPAMED in Düsseldorf, for example.

It is 677 km from Klaus to there. A distance that we were happy to take on. After all, given the many international contacts with potential customers throughout Europe and the USA, 677 km is actually quite a long way. For four days, 5,800 exhibitors from 72 nations presented themselves to around 80,000 trade visitors from 165 countries at the supplier trade fair, which took place parallel to the MEDICA 2024 industry congress. Modern healthcare solutions for outpatient and inpatient care and how this can be guaranteed with state-of-the-art medical technology was the aim of the trade fair. At the joint stand of Austrian suppliers organized by the WKO, we were able to hold countless discussions with a small but eye-catching presence. The quality of the visitors was obvious. Many decision-makers from the healthcare sector (companies, clinics, organizations) were looking for new solutions. As a small newcomer, we were able to score points with our specialized range of cleanroom-manufactured precision plastic parts. Above all because we were able to offer the complete value chain from development, design and tooling through to the finished plastic part and - if required - through to component assembly. It is also astonishing that even large companies consciously prefer smaller suppliers like us, who can react to the often rapid changes in the market thanks to flat hierarchies and flexible structures. Large, cumbersome corporations - as the automotive industry is currently demonstrating in dramatic fashion - are clearly out of their depth here. Sandra Lercher, Markus Sonderegger (Managing Director of Lercher-Medical), Joachim Rothfuss and our new International Sales Manager Gregor Fleisch were on hand to answer visitors' questions. The result of this exciting trade fair appearance is a file folder full of contacts and discussion notes that now need to be followed up. "The result of this exciting trade fair appearance is many new contacts, which we hope will lead to a long-term business relationship. We are already looking forward to it!"

Over 350 came and marveled

It was a really good feeling - finally an open day almost like before the pandemic. As part of the WIGE Vorderland "Region of the Open Door" event, we also presented our company to the general public on Friday, April 22. More than 350 visitors came to find out what actually happens behind the façade of our company building. The longest journey was probably made by a prominent guest from Vienna.

beam me up....

into the high-tech world of Lercher.

That's what five young people thought again in September 2021 as they start their careers with us. And this will lead them into an industry with enormous opportunities for the future. Pascal from Altach sees accuracy and creativity as his personal strengths. He can certainly score points with us. During his school days, he got a taste of our plastics department and became enthusiastic about the subject. Now the handball player, who plays for HC Hohenems, wants to become a plastics molder. His club colleague Niklas from Altach not only shares his love of handball, but also his enthusiasm for our green plastic-part-spitting monsters. Concentrated and independent work - that's what he likes. And after three taster sessions at other companies, he has also taken a liking to the team at Lercher. Welcome to the team.

Nightly screams

It is the middle of the night. Beams of light from flashlights flit across the machines and through the corridors at Lercher. Three figures wander through our production area and seem to be looking for something. A huge ant trail winds its way along the floor of the plastic injection molding machines. Then you hear screams - again and again.
