Message in a bottle that arrives safely
Our extensive knowledge of process validation ensures 100% reproducible quality throughout the entire production process.
We have also taken on the performance testing of this tray for our customer Schott Pharma.
The result: even after transportation and storage, the product meets its high requirements - e.g. the sterile glass vials stored in it must not come into contact with each other.
Classic messages in bottles usually have a sender but no addressee. And the route by which the message is transported is more than uncertain - if it arrives undamaged at all.
In the pharmaceutical industry, on the other hand, such bottle transportation must be much more precise, defined and secure. Our customer Schott Pharma has therefore developed a tray that holds sterile vials. These are filled, stored and transported fully automatically with active ingredients and medicines. We were asked to manufacture this cupnest - a plastic tray that holds the ready-to-use, sterile vials for fill & finish applications. Due to its use in fully automated processes, the cup nest (approx. A5 in size) and the individual honeycombs had to guarantee high positioning accuracy, not to mention the requirements for cleanliness and sterility. Optimum cooling during the injection process was also a challenge when designing the mold. In addition, the cup nest had to be produced with as little stress as possible, as it was subsequently steam sterilized.
We accepted and mastered the challenge thanks to our many years of expertise along the entire production chain - from design and toolmaking to plastic injection molding. After all, this is what we offer our customers under one roof.
